EYAS
Alt Indie Soul
BIOGRAPHY
Eyas’ debut EP ‘Quiet-loud’ out November 22nd can be described as an expansive and lush 6-track record produced alongside 4AD’s Bartees Strange. Jenna and Bartees achieved a record that is truly captivating and restless, sloping between tempos and styles. Aptly named ‘Quiet-loud’. Each song ebbs and flows, one minute possessing the energy and pulse of an underground club at 2am, the next song whispering and sleepy in bed. Her vocal stylings span genres, from freeform melodic 90's r&b, to fizzy dream pop, akin to artists like Melody’s Echo Chamber or Broadcast. Jenna layers sweet, breathy vocals, atop uplifting and sometimes frantic beats, undulating between energetic and peaceful. Her opening song and lead single “Phaded” is about being put on a pedestal and not being able to live up to someone else’s obsessive expectations of you

“[Something In Betweeen and Phaded] find her making delicate, airy indie folk, and the former breaks out into a glitchy, Radiohead-esque jam with some help from Dr. Dog drummer Eric Slick.“
- Brooklyn Vegan, 2024
“Tender, textured, and at times transcendent, it shows off her ability to shapeshift between genres, sounding as at-home in lo-fi folk and neo-jazz ballads as in electric throwback dance tracks.”
- Baltimore Magazine, 2025
“The audience was awed as singer Eyas sat before them with a keyboard and guitar, her vocals flush with pure emotion.”
- Baltimore Beat, 2024

“Her solo music touches on shades of folk, bedroom pop, jazz, and electronica, conjuring a mercurial style that moves freely between whisper-quiet confessionals, glitchy lo-fi grooves, breathless art rock jams, and even pulsing dance rhythms.“
